Kevin specializes in major cross-border M&A and private equity investments.
Kevin commenced his legal practice in London, UK, having spent more than 10 years working for major UK and US international law firms. In his more than 18 years of practice, Kevin has played an instrumental role for SOEs and private enterprises, foreign MNCs, private equity funds, global multilateral organizations and sovereign wealth funds in large-scale and complex M&A projects. He has participated in M&A projects in major investment and financing markets spanning five continents across diversified industries including digital economy, artificial intelligence, energy, consumer goods, traditional manufacturing, industrial chemicals, logistics and transportation, fintech, healthcare, TMT, media, education and real estate.
Besides, Kevin has over 7 years of combined experience as General Counsel in a private equity house and an SFC-licensed financial institution in Hong Kong. As part of senior management, Kevin oversaw the company secretarial function for all Asian entities of the SFC-licensed financial institution and also sat on the Asia Operating Committee and the Global Legal Leadership Team. Hence, Kevin has tremendous insight into the legal service requirements of global MNCs.
Given his diverse background, Kevin is fully cognisant of the current state of play and challenges of PRC and international law firms, and is certainly very familiar with the legal needs of both Chinese and Western clients. Kevin possesses a sharp commercial acumen and is adept at using lateral thinking to provide clients with not only a technically correct legal answer, but a commercially practical legal solution.
