Marcus obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree at Kings College London in 2009 and Postgraduate Certificate in Laws from City University of Hong Kong in 2017. Marcus also obtained a Masters of Law in Chinese Law from Tsinghua University in 2011 and a Masters of Law in Arbitration and Dispute Resolution from City University of Hong Kong in 2016. Prior to joining CFN Lawyers LLP, Marcus worked for an offshore law firm and an asset management firm in Hong Kong. He is fluent in Cantonese, English and Mandarin.

Gilbert Chan is a partner in the Head Office of CFN Lawyers LLP. Gilbert focuses his practice on civil and commercial matters, both contentious and non-contentious, including civil litigation, contractual review, intellectual property, family matters and conveyancing.    

Thomas Kho is a consultant at CFN Lawyers LLP. He brings over 20 years of experience in both law and finance. Having served for a total of 10 years as a derivatives and structured finance lawyer with a Magic Circle law firm and the legal teams of bulge-bracket investment banks, Thomas leveraged his legal expertise and transitioned into senior front-office roles in investment banking and asset management, culminating in his role as a managing director of a pan-Asia private credit fund.   This unique career trajectory, from legal counsel to investment principal, provides him with commercial acumen and a pragmatic approach to resolving complex challenges. In his front-office roles, Thomas applied his legal expertise to structure, execute and exit complex cross-border financing transactions. He has also expanded his legal repertoire to include debt restructuring, insolvency, dispute resolution, listing and other corporate and commercial matters. His unique combination of knowledge in finance and law has proved invaluable in many unique contexts, e.g., in assessing litigation financing strategies where both expertise in law and finance are required.   Throughout his career, Thomas’s experience spans across the Asia-Pacific region and numerous sectors and asset classes, including financial services (particularly in relation to Hong Kong and China cross-border matters), mining, energy, industrial and cryptocurrency mining.   Further distinguishing his practice, Thomas holds a Master of Applied Data Science from the University of Michigan and is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Asia (CIPP/A) accredited by International Association of Privacy Professionals – IAPP. These qualifications position him at the forefront of emerging legal challenges, enabling him to provide sophisticated advice on data privacy, AI and other technology-related legal issues. 

Amanda Li is a senior Hong Kong legal practitioner with over 15 years of multifaceted experience spanning private practice, regulatory agencies, and investment banking. She specializes in complex capital markets transactions, SFC regulatory compliance, and corporate governance matters, leveraging her diverse background as both a former Securities and Futures Commission regulator and investment banker to deliver commercially astute solutions. Her practice combines technical regulatory expertise with deep transactional experience across IPOs, REITs, M&A, and debt capital markets. Building on her expertise, she now focuses her advisory services on legal frontiers governing blockchain, digital assets, and Web3 technologies.

Sam Yung is a consultant of CFN Lawyers LLP practicing in the areas of corporate finance and commercial matters, including initial public offerings and secondary listings, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings, joint venture and regulatory compliance.   Sam qualified in Hong Kong in 2006 and in England and Wales in 2023. Prior to joining CFN, Sam previously practiced at Michael Li & Co and Reed Smith Richards Butler where he regularly advised on capital market transactions, public takeovers as well as listing rules compliance. Apart from his experience in private practice, Sam served as in-house legal counsel at the Airport Authority from 2022 to 2025 and played pivotal role in the Authority’s debt issuance exercises and cross-border transactions.

Bon-G focuses his practice on corporate & commercial, initial public offerings and general compliance work. Bon-G has extensive experience in advising listed issuers or underwriters in initial public offering projects, post listing compliance matters, corporate restructuring, corporate governance and other general commercial matters.   Bon-G qualified in Hong Kong in 2011.
